Vicky Collier: Yugwan, let's start with the obvious - what inspired you to build Projects Expert? 

Yugwan: I’ve spent over two decades helping project-centric organisations implement Oracle. Again and again, I saw the same thing: teams working around Oracle Projects, not within it.

People wanted more than what the out-of-the-box module offered - more planning depth, better financial controls, easier updates. They wanted their project system to be as dynamic as the projects themselves. So, Projects Expert was born from a simple idea: what if we could extend Oracle PPM without disrupting it?

Vicky Collier: That idea clearly resonated. What makes the product different?

Yugwan: We didn’t try to reinvent the core. Oracle PPM is solid. What we did was identify the friction points - where users were dropping out into spreadsheets or building shadow systems - and design a native-feeling layer that solves for those gaps.

• Automated risk scoring

• Live, co-authored project updates

• AI-enhanced forecasting

Everything was built with two rules: it must feel like Oracle, and it must make project delivery smarter, not harder.

Vicky Collier: What's your vision for how this evolves over the next few years?

Yugwan: We see Projects Expert as becoming the intelligence layer for Oracle PPM.

Right now, we’re enabling better control and insight. But where we’re going is about predictive delivery - where the system doesn’t just store project data but actively learns from it. That means:

• Suggesting resource allocations based on past project data

• Predicting risk hotspots

• Alerting project leads when timelines begin to drift, even before it’s visible in a Gantt chart

And this is not just wishful thinking. We're already piloting these features with live clients.

Vicky Collier: What do clients tell you they value most?

Yugwan: Two things: fit and trust.

Fit, because Projects Expert feels like it belongs inside Oracle. There’s no weird integration layer, no new user model. It’s invisible until you need it, and then it’s powerful.

And trust, because we’re not an SI or a vendor trying to sell add-ons. We’re focused on one thing: making Oracle PPM work better for project-driven businesses. That singularity of focus matters.

Vicky Collier: What's next for you and for the product?

Yugwan: For me, it’s about scaling the right way. We’re expanding our roadmap, hiring with purpose, and building partnerships across industries like life sciences, infrastructure, and engineering.

For the product, we’re doubling down on AI, adoption analytics, and cross-module intelligence. We’re building tools that not only enhance project visibility but also recommend actions, like a digital PMO.

My goal? That in three years, Projects Expert is recognised as the de facto companion to Oracle PPM. Not a plugin. An essential partner.
